Drafting Position

Position Description:
The Designer / Drafter will work as a member of a team to prepare drawings for automatic fire sprinkler systems. Project work assignments will include layout and design.

Additionally, he/she will be responsible to:
* Make preliminary designs according to general instructions and specifications
* Complying with both client-specific and Midwest Automatic Fire Sprinkler Company standards
* Communicate effectively with Lead Design Engineer and other Engineering staff

Experience Required:
* High School or Equivalent
* Experience with Drafting and AutoCAD a plus
* Experience in the construction industry helpful but not required
* Must be a self-starter, be highly motivated, and a quick learner
* We are willing to train the right person

Fabrication, General Laborer:
This position is located in Des Moines, Iowa. Must be able to work on your feet and lift heavy loads. Position entails cutting & threading steel pipe, loading/unloading trucks, filling orders, etc. Must be self-motivated and team oriented with the ability to perform multiple tasks.

We have positions available in all offices for qualified candidates. Candidate must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to pass a drug screen. Acceptance into the Apprenticeship program is done through Road Sprinkler Fitters Local Union 669. Applicant should be able to lift heavy loads, have no fear of heights and be able to work well with others.
